Connect services and store keys

Add service credentials in site settings and test the connection.

Some site features need an outside service, such as a map provider or an API. First ask OffPress which service and settings the feature needs.

Add a secret

  1. Open the site and choose Settings → Basic.
  2. Find Secrets.
  3. Enter the key name required by the feature and its value.
  4. Save it using the form’s add control.
  5. Return to the site session and ask OffPress to use that named key for the feature.

Enter the private value in Secrets rather than in a chat message or a public page. Use the exact key name the feature expects.

Test the feature

Try the action that uses the service in the preview. Some providers require you to allow the preview and live domains separately. Review the result after publishing as well.

If the service refuses the request, check the key, its permissions, any domain restrictions, and the provider account’s status.

Replace or remove a key

Update the saved value when you replace a key at its provider. Removing a key can stop the feature that uses it, so check where it is used first.

Use the dedicated setup screens for payments and GitHub. For email sending, see Newsletters and subscribers.
