Edit pages and posts

Use the combined content library, save drafts, publish explicitly, and manage existing live content.

Content Admin is the site’s CMS. Open Content or Content/Store in OffPress to manage pages, posts, media, forms, and installed store features. OffPress’s Inbox, Scheduling, and Activity live outside this editor.

Open Content Admin

  1. Open your site in OffPress and select Content or Content/Store.
  2. Allow the editor preparation and sign-in to finish.
  3. Choose Content in the CMS navigation, then select Pages or Posts.
  4. Search by title, filter by status, or change the sort order to find an item.

Use Try again if preparation fails. If access is denied, ask the workspace owner to check your content permission. Repeated loading is not a reason to create another copy of the site; see Troubleshooting.

Create and save a draft

Create a page or post from its list. Enter its title and content, then review the URL slug and any images or metadata. New pages and posts start as Draft. Select Save draft to keep the work without making it public.

For posts, review the excerpt, featured image, author, categories, and tags. Authors are public bylines, not staff login accounts.

Publish or unpublish content

When the item is ready, select its Publish control. This is an explicit content-publication action and requires the appropriate permission. Check the public page afterward.

An already-published item offers Save changes and Unpublish. Saving changes to published content can affect the live page immediately. Unpublish changes its status back to Draft and can make its public address unavailable.

Saving a published item is not a separate staged revision awaiting the main site Publish button. Review live-content changes before saving. Unpublishing can hide the whole item, not just your latest edits.

The Publish control in the main OffPress workspace releases site code and design. It is separate from publishing a page or post in the CMS. See Publish your site.

Organize content and connect layouts

Authors, Categories, and Tags are available from the Content area. Use Back to Content to return from their editors. Custom content collections depend on the site.

A new page may need a menu link or a layout. Ask in Site Design, for example: “Add /workshops to the header after Home.” If saved text does not appear, give OffPress the exact page address and field; an imported layout may still use content from its design rather than that field.

Open the editor in its own tab

A site manager can open OffPress Settings → Basic → Content admin login and select View login details for the separate admin address and login. Collaborators should normally use their own OffPress team access. Keep these credentials private.

Use Images and files, Contact forms, and Search settings and redirects for related tasks.
