Contact forms

Add a form, review its fields, and test that submissions arrive.

The Forms collection stores reusable form definitions: fields, validation, confirmation behavior, and any configured email settings. Form submissions stores the responses visitors send. A definition can be used on a page; creating one does not automatically place it there.

These are CMS features. OffPress Inbox handles customer conversations separately; a saved form submission is not automatically an Inbox conversation.

Add a form to a page

  1. Open Site Design and describe the form you need.
  2. Name the page and the fields visitors should fill in.
  3. Say what should happen after submission.
  4. Review the form in the preview.

Add a contact form to /contact with Name, Email, and Message. Require Email and Message. Show “Thanks. We’ll reply soon.” after a successful submission.

Review the form settings

Open Content or Content/Store, then Workspace → Forms. Open the form and check the labels, required fields, and confirmation behavior. If your form uses OffPress email, select Contact message for its email purpose and check its delivery setup. Ask OffPress to check the notification recipient if you are unsure where messages will go.

Contact messages and newsletter signups serve different purposes. Use a dedicated signup form for a mailing list; do not assume everyone who contacts you should become a subscriber.

Send a test

  1. Open the form as a visitor.
  2. Try submitting without a required field and check the message.
  3. Submit with an email address you can check.
  4. Confirm the success message and look in Workspace → Form submissions in Content Admin.
  5. Check the expected notification inbox if email delivery is enabled.

If a submission is saved but its notification fails, check email delivery separately. Avoid asking the visitor to repeat a message that is already saved.

Review imported forms

Check imported forms even if they look unchanged. An old plugin or external service connection may need setup again. For mailing lists, continue with Newsletters and subscribers.
